About this neighbourhood

Old Strathcona is a mature and well-developed neighbourhood with stately buildings, stunning old mature trees, and lovely gardens all around. Old Strathcona is a perfect blend of incredible shopping, world-class dining, and lively entertainment! Whyte Avenue, which is just blocks away, is a vibrant area with strong ties to art and theatre. There are dozens of eclectic shops and cafés creating and enhancing the area’s bohemian vibe.

A fun fact about the neighborhood is that Strathcona was once a separate city from Edmonton. The amalgamation occurred in 1912, and the city has been better for it ever since.

What's nearby:

The Strathcona Place Seniors Society is just across the street. As well, a pharmacy, dermatologist, and allergy clinic are right next door as well as an audiology clinic just one block away. Many places of worship surround the area and are easily accessible. There is a major ETS bus route at the end of the block, which can take you almost anywhere in the city.
