About GEF Virginia Park Lodge

Virginia Park Lodge is a three-storey building with 65 units (including two mobility-accessible units) and is a part of a plaza alongside the three separate Apartment buildings. Within the plaza rests a park-like courtyard, shaded by nearly 300 mature trees, with covered walkways. The Lodge provides on-site dining with meals prepared by a Red Seal Chef, recreation programming by an Activity and Wellness Coordinator, non-medical staff on-site 24-hours a day, and once-a-week housekeeping and linen service.

Located in the northeast, picturesque Virginia Park neighbourhood, with ETS bus routes nearby and the Stadium LRT Station being moments away, residents have easy access to transit, restaurants, and shopping. In addition, the Royal Alexandra Hospital is only a ten-minute drive away.

About this neighbourhood

Highlands is a small, centrally-located residential neighbourhood just northeast of Edmonton’s downtown, situated along the North Saskatchewan River Valley. The neighbourhood has a peaceful, calming feel. It is tucked away from the main roads, close to bike paths and walking paths. Due to the mature landscaping and a forest of beautiful trees, it is a perfect spot to take in the Edmonton scenery.

The property where the Virginia Park Lodge and Apartments now sit used to be a greenhouse!

What's nearby:

Virginia Park is down the road from a grocery store, hair salon, nail salon, and the East Edmonton Health Centre. The lovely Borden Park is just to the north, complete with walking paths, formal flower garden, tennis courts, and a pool. As well, there is the Edmonton Urban Farm, Edmonton Expo Centre, Bellevue Community Centre, and additional restaurants and shopping just 6 blocks away. There is an ETS bus route that runs through the neighbourhood, and you are just minutes away from the Stadium LRT station, as well as the Yellowhead Trail and Wayne Gretzky Drive. In the wintertime, it is always a joy to experience the Christmas lights along Ada Boulevard.
