About this neighbourhood

Ritchie is nestled between the parkland of Mill Creek Ravine and the buzz of Whyte Avenue’s nightlife and is one of Edmonton’s most up-and-coming communities. In addition to the Mill Creek ravine, Ritchie features a series of parks and trails that run along the central spine of the neighbourhood.

A fun fact about the neighbourhood is that it was named for Robert Ritchie, former Mayor of the Town of Strathcona and original owner of the Ritchie Mill. This is the oldest flour mill in Alberta and is a historic site, which still stands at 102 Street and Saskatchewan Drive.

What's nearby:

Locally-owned shops, restaurants, breweries, parks, and trails are sprinkled throughout the neighbourhood, so there is something for everyone! There is a strong sense of community fostered by the engaged community league who hosts concerts, classes, and a yearly chili cook-off.
