About GEF Kiwanis Place

Kiwanis Place Lodge contains 205 single and double rooms, all with balconies. The top floor is home to a penthouse with a small kitchen area and a spectacular view of downtown Edmonton, and residents can book this common area for small parties and gatherings. With a full recreation calendar, residents stay active and engaged with a variety of special events, bus outings, and daily activities. The auditorium on the ground floor is the place to come together for activities like shuffleboard, bingo, sing-a-longs, ice cream parlours, movie night, happy hour and pub night, and live entertainment. The ground floor also has a large lounge where residents can sit with friends to play cards, read the newspaper, engage in mental aerobics with crossword puzzles, or use one of the computers to keep in touch with family and friends. Residents can also take advantage of the on-site hair salon, exercise room with treadmill and recumbent bike. Some of the many services available at the lodge include an ATM, health clinics, foot doctor, hearing clinics, library drop-off, and monthly visits from students at nearby Oliver School and the Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta.

About this neighbourhood

Oliver is one of the oldest communities in Edmonton; however it is incredibly modern and vibrant. Mature trees line the sidewalks and canopy the streets. Oliver is home to several parks, including Paul Kane Park, Oliver Pool and a Community Garden. It is easy to forget that the hustle of downtown is just blocks away, as this community has a very peaceful and tranquil feel. Oliver offers the best of both worlds: a quiet, small community feel and access to numerous amenities and transit options.

If you choose to live in the Oliver neighbourhood, you will be pleased to know that it is consistently ranked in the top ten desirable neighborhoods to live in Edmonton. It has been noted that dogs seem to outnumber the children living in the neighbourhood

What's nearby:

The newly developed Brewery District has an abundance of restaurants, shops and services including London Drugs, Loblaws City Market, Shoppers Drug Mart, Winners, Starbucks, and DynaLIFE. The Allin Clinic is located within the community and offers an assortment of medical services. There is also access to physiotherapists, dentists, chiropractors, optometrists, banks and hair salons within the community. The Oliver Community League is very active, and offers a variety of events and activities to residents. There are many transit options currently in the neighbourhood but most services are walkable within the community. A new LRT line is planned for 104th Avenue and will provide additional transit options. Oliver is also close to 124th Street, which is home to many unique shops and boutiques.
