About this neighbourhood

Sakaw is one of 27 neighbourhoods within the Mill Woods area. The neighbourhood has lots of mature tress and a very homey feel, as there are no high-rise buildings around. The Sakaw neighbourhood is very family-oriented, as there are a large number of families and seniors that live within the area. There are great walking trails that you have access to, as you are just moments away from the Mill Creek Ravine.

A fun fact about the neighbourhood is that the name Sakaw means “wooden area” and comes from the Cree language.

What's nearby:

Many shopping centres, churches and Sobeys are in close proximity by vehicle. The Edmonton Public Library is just five minutes away, and it houses the Mill Woods Seniors Association on the top floor with a variety of different activities! The Grey Nuns Hospital is also just minutes away. There is currently construction under way for the Valley Line, with an LRT station to be located at Mill Woods Towne Centre.
