About this neighbourhood

Gold Bar was built in the post-WWII period and the homes are characteristically known as “Golden Homes” due to the main builder in the neighbourhood. Gold Bar is right next to the river valley and Gold Bar ravine system. It is a great neighbourhood for people that love to be in our urban parkland. Gold Bar is one of the only neighbourhoods not affected by infill. Almost the entire neighbourhood is comprised of the original houses from the 1960’s.

A fun fact about the neighbourhood is that it is rumoured to come from the gold prospectors that frequented the area during the Klondike Gold Rush. The Gold Bar community sits on the original Gold Bar Farm, and the original farmhouse still stands to this day!
