About GEF Canora Gardens

Canora Gardens is a five-storey building with 98 units, including four mobility-accessible units. The building amenities include a large common area lounge with kitchen and a private dining room useful for private gatherings. As well, there is the balcony patio or the courtyard with a community garden, where tenants may volunteer and exercise their green thumbs caring for the plants.

Located in the northwest, mature Canora neighbourhood, this area is notable for its towering trees overhanging the streets. With an ETS shuttle bus outside and Stony Plain Road nearby, tenants have access to cafes, grocery stores, and shopping. In addition, the Misericordia Hospital is only a ten-minute drive away.

About this neighbourhood

Canora is an older neighbourhood with many newer aspects. Beautiful mature trees overhang the streets. The streets and sidewalks have been upgraded, thanks to the City of Edmonton’s neighbourhood renewal program. There are many small parks, green spaces, and walking paths throughout the community, which make it feel safe and homey to the residents that live there. There is a strong sense of community here.

What's nearby:

There is plenty of shopping within walking distance, such as the No Frills grocery store across the street as well as FreshCo, Dollar store, London Drugs, Starbucks, TD Bank, and more being very accessible. The City of Edmonton is also in the process of construction for the newest line of the LRT.

In the summer, there are community events that bring everyone together. There is a daycare across the street, and it is always an exciting day when the children come for an intergenerational visit. Students from a nearby school also visit and participate in music and crafts with the tenants.
